World Premiere JUBA YOUTH in Berlin, Germany
On May 15, 2013 the films of JUBA YOUTH celebrated their world premiere at the Hackesche Höfe Cinema in Berlin.
For the majority of the audience it was a novelty to see film productions from the Republic of South Sudan and it became clear: There is a broad interest in stories from the world’s youngest state that tell about the living conditions on the spot.
After the screening presenter Dorothee Wenner talked about the films about media cooperatives in partner countries of development cooperation with Sitona Abdalla Osman, Ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan, Dr. Philipp Rock, Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and with Alexander Pfeuffer, WELTFILME Chairman.
The Berlin premiere was the kick-off event for the exploitation of the films. They are being broadcasted on South Sudanese television and presented at special events. Additionally they can be borrowed as a DVD from several libraries and viewed online.
