WELTFILME was founded in 2012 as a non-profit organisation based in Berlin, Germany. Since then, we and our partners have been engaged in cooperative projects that support young filmmakers in developing countries.

CHAIRMAN

TOM WLASCHIHA

studied acting in Leipzig and Lüttich. After working in various theatres in Germany, he devoted himself increasingly to film and television. His numerous performance credits include Krabat, Berlin Falling, and multiple episodes of Tatort. Internationally, he’s best known for his roles in the HBO series Game of Thrones and Amazon’s Jack Ryan.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

ALEXANDER PFEUFFER

studied screenwriting and film directing in Berlin and Los Angeles. He is the author of several plays and award-winning short films, feature films, and TV series, and has several writer-producer credits for NGO film campaigns. Alongside his creative work, Alex teaches screenwriting in several countries.

FINANCIAL OPERATIONS MANAGER

ANNA SCHLEMMER

trained in sales for audio-visual media at a film production company in Berlin. Since then, she’s continued to work on film and television productions in the areas of production management, logistics, and accounting. Since 2018, she has been studying business and digital economics at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences.

PROJECT MANAGER & FUNDRAISING

FIONA KLASSEN

studied Global Studies at Long Island University Global in New York and completed a case study in Sarajevo, exploring the impact of civil society led story sharing initiatives on sustainable peace efforts in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Fiona also has experience in dramaturgy and fundraising.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

FRANK DOMHAN

studied communication, theatre and psychology in Berlin and Rome. He has curated exhibits, taken part in multiple documentary productions, and authored TV reports and informational films. His journalistic account of child labour in the stone breaking industry, Grabsteine aus Kinderhand (Tombstones from the Hands of Children), was awarded the media prize by the child welfare organisation Kindernothilfe. He teaches documentary filmmaking.

MANJA WOLFF

trained as a portrait and advertising photographer in Cologne, where she also completed an internship at a film and television production company. Since 2001, she has worked as a freelance camera operator and producer in the fields of journalism, corporate film, and documentary.

FILM TECH & EDITING

NICO HERTEL

studied media composition and production in Enschede. He worked as a cutter and recordist at a production house for advertisement and web documentaries in Berlin, where he was also responsible for the musical direction of many productions. In 2017, he became self-employed and now works on various TV, web, and indie productions. At WELTFILME, he serves as technical director and teaches film editing.

NICOLAI RISSMANN

At the age of 16, he produced photo shoots and commercials for his first companies. A short time later, his first short film landed in Cannes and out of self-employment he founded a film production company in Berlin with renowned clients from a wide range of industries. Now he develops holistic communication and marketing strategies and creates movies and commercials as a DOP.

PROGRAMME DIRECTOR

ROGIER HARDEMAN

studied theatre in Amsterdam and has worked as a German-language theatre and film director since 2001. He also produces online videos and works as director of production for various independent theatre companies. His short film Die Hochzeitspolizei (The Wedding Police, 2016) won numerous prizes at national and international festivals.

WEBMANAGMENT

SVEN KIRSCHENBAUER

studied integrated design and visual communication at the Cologne International School of Design and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He works in the fields of interior, scenic design and architectural communication.
