LOOKING CLOSER
LOOKING CLOSER – the first of a multi-phase vision to fortify Film Network West Africa (FNWA) and its five partner organisations to sustainably support the local film industry. Through training programs, masterclasses and international collaboration, young men and women filmmakers have practiced and strengthened their skills.

In the FNWA countries, the media and film industry is growing. Nevertheless, there is a shortage of qualified personnel because training opportunities in the film sector are either completely lacking or are only accessible through high tuition fees. While the content of these films took a closer look at the diversity of the filmmakers’ local societies, this project also zoomed in on their filmmaking process, to highlight their strengths and bring attention to areas that can still be further developed.
We hope you enjoy these films as much as we do and share in our excitement for FNWA’s future sustainability as an international centre for filmmaking!
