Juba Youth

Since South Sudan became independent in 2011, the country faces its zero hour. Despite of the challenging local situation, it is particularly the young South Sudanese who are optimistic about leading their lives into a better future.

Within the framework of the project JUBA YOUTH five South Sudanese film-makers present local adolescents and their way of living in fictional and documentary short films.

All film-makers of JUBA YOUTH won the Special Film-Maker Award at the XXVIII Black International Cinema Berlin 2013.
